There are places in life that call to you, that calm the spirit and settle the mind. Nature is all around and as the cold weather approaches there is always more to see, even in the bareness of a leafless tree or a grassless meadow. We need to take it all in and be thankful for a new season.
Don’t forget in all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays to sit down on a park bench and watch the turning of the leaves. Take a walk in the cool fall air and let it fill you lungs with an invigorating chill. Wander among the trails and see what you wouldn’t normally stop to observe; a small animal, a fallen tree, or a new path you haven’t traveled down.
Whatever the moment, take it in and know that change is all around and we’re all better for it. Even as we move through our days without even thinking about who we’ll meet or what we’ll learn along the way, we can always take a minute to reflect. That’s the best way to get to a place of gratitude.
And that is the biggest lesson of the holiday season. Be grateful for what the year has brought you. Remember those who made a difference in your life. Say thank you to all the people you’ll cross paths with in the next couple of months. You never know what joy you’ll bring to someone in a simple moment of kindness.
Cheers to a Warm and Wonderful Holiday Season!
