Valentine’s Day
Valentines Day, just the mere mention of it can set off a firestorm of strong emotions in almost any crowd of people. There is something about this day that either makes you smile or makes you cry, stirs a fond memory to the surface or drags you down a dark hole, offers hope or confirms your worst nightmare. What is it about this day that causes such polarizing opinions?
If we look beyond the obvious; candy, flowers, romantic dinners, epic marriage proposals and the usual hearts, hugs, and kisses, we see the not so obvious; those who have and those who have not. The day has become so much about having a plus one to share it with, experiencing some grand gesture of love, and being the one to get the most candy-grams in the office. But really, there is more to life, and today, than all of this.
Valentines should be a day where we all celebrate with each other in loving company, sharing joy and laughter with as many family and friends as we can. While we may not all be able to come together under one roof, we can be a part of each other's day by sending a special note or an unexpected message of support, an effective valentine of sorts. That’s really all most of us want, to be held in a dear ones thoughts. Keep it super simple. See what we did there? ;)
XOXO,
