Starting Small (Business)
Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. There’s a lot more that goes into starting a business today than in years past. It used to be, idea + hard work = successful business. Not so today. Now it’s, idea + hard work + technical quagmire + global competition = just the beginning of a long road trip to a successful business. Not only do you have to have a great product; it’s about having a great website to match. Your 2022 yellow page is not only how customers find you, it’s a customer’s first impression of your business, which means you want your website to look amazing!
With so many website building options out there, do your homework and find one that fit’s your level of knowledge and know how. Consider what services they offer and if there is live support or just a FAQ tab for troubleshooting. Just because a website builder offers a ton of bells and whistles doesn’t mean it’s the right choice. Starting small is the best way to ease into designing your own website. We have found that SquareSpace has worked the best for what we want and need in a website building platform. It was very user friendly, fairly straight forward, there were a lot of template options to choose from, features are built right in, and they offered several different plans. They also offer a 14 day free trial, which is a great way to decide it it’s the right fit for your business.
Don’t think you have to go it alone! If you’re not fortunate enough to have a great business partner (and Nobel Cow Creamery buddy) find support, knowledge, and know-how in small business programs. Meet up with other newbies and learn from each other. After the past couple of years that we’ve all been through, it’s nice to get back out into the world and socialize, and it’s a great excuse for grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting down for a chat. Enjoy the journey!!
With much kindness & care,
